Our mission at Fountain of Hope Art and Craft is to provide a platform for local people to harness their artistic potential and acquire practical skills in crafting beaded items, thereby creating sustainable opportunities to generate income and build a brighter future for themselves and their families.
The organization is based in Masiphumelele (Masi), a township located on the Cape Peninsula in South Africa. Life for the people of Masi is a constant struggle, many live in grinding poverty, scraping out a meagre day-to-day existence. Masiphumelele, is a Xhosa word, which means “let us succeed,” an aspiration that Fountain of Hope is helping to make real for the people who live there.
Not only does the organization foster creative and entrepreneurial skills it also meets basic needs through a feeding program that provides daily nutritious meals to the hungry children and adults who come to the program.
